Why isn't group planning free, like some travel agents?+
Some agents only handle the booking — which is exactly what supplier commission already pays for. The group planning fee covers what commission doesn't: rooming charts, dozens of individual guest questions, vendor coordination, and someone reachable on the ground. If your trip doesn't need that layer — solo, couples, small getaways, cruises — it's $0, same as anywhere else.
Doesn't my resort already include a wedding coordinator?+
Often, yes — once your group hits a room-night minimum. But that coordinator works for the resort, not for you. They're not negotiating your group rate, chasing 60 individual guest bookings, managing your rooming chart, or advocating for you if something's wrong. CoMotion works alongside the resort's coordinator, not instead of them.
Do I pay anything for a solo trip, couple's getaway, or small party?+
Typically the same price, or less, as booking it yourself — Vacation Express, Sunwing Vacations, WestJet Vacations, Air Transat, Signature Vacations, and Air Canada Vacations pay CoMotion directly. At times it can be a little more, depending on the season or what's available — and what you get for that is TICO-protected booking, concierge-level support, a real person to ask questions to, and someone in your corner if anything needs to change or be cancelled.
What happens if my group needs more planning time than the tier covers?+
Additional time is billed at $150/hr, agreed to before any extra hours are worked — no surprise invoices.
Is the planning fee refundable if the trip is cancelled or postponed?+
No — the planning fee covers work already underway once your inquiry moves into active planning, so it isn't refundable if the trip is later cancelled or postponed.
